This title presents speaking and life skills for adults. Newcomers to the United States are interested in learning all they can about American culture, but there is a dearth of materials that are useful for them and written at their level."What's Up" is a three-book series that presents many activities that build skills and knowledge of U.S. culture for adult learners of English. Each unit prominently features activities that develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and contains sections that allow students to learn about American culture through real-life stories (to which students are given multiple exposures). Tasks allow students to apply what they have learned by filling out forms, reading classified ads, or performing similar life-skills tasks.
