If you’ve been in a bookshop or newsagents recently, you’ve probably seen rows of books covered with line drawings on blank backgrounds: welcome to the rise of the adult colouring book. Here at Eurospan, the craze had mostly passed us by until, that is, our very first colouring book appeared on our desks.

The Inklings Coloring Book from The Kent State University Press is a unique colouring book, as it gives you a chance to colour your way through the world of the Inklings, the famous Oxford writing group that included C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien. In The Inklings Coloring Book, the renowned fantasy illustrator James A. Owen has designed fifteen imaginative line drawings on heavy-stock paper, that take you into The Eagle and Child pub in Oxford where the Inklings met to discuss their work, and around the table for tea with Tolkien.
Each drawing is printed on one side only and is suitable for markers, fine-tipped pens and colouring pencils, meaning you can let your creative juices flow as you discover the Inklings' world.

Also for the C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkien fan is the complementary book Bandersnatch: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the Creative Collaboration of the Inklings  from The Kent State University Press. Beautifully illustrated by James A. Owen, Bandersnatch offers an inside look at the Inklings of Oxford, especially showing how encouragement and criticism made all the difference in The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as dozens of other books written by members of this literary circle.
Together, these two books provide a unique glimpse into the world of some of Britain's best-loved authors.
